Cobra Snake’s Answer to “What is Youth Culture?”

The Cobra Snake is a website (thecobrasnake.com) that features party scene photos. They have become a go-to site for hundreds of thousands...

Fun is the most common theme. A girl wearing a blue Katie Perry wig, eyes are drawn to her facial expression rather than the bra that’s sticking out of her shirt.

And you don’t have to look like Bar Refaeli. They feature people of all shapes, sizes, races and sexualities. We all have cool in us – just show some personality (and some colorful clothes).

The venue doesn’t always matter, but optimism does – the man’s tie-dye shirt and ear-to-ear smile is more conspicuous than the presence of an interracial couple.

And sometimes the venue is all that matters. Who care’s who’s playing? Everybody’s doing it.

Crowds are common and so are celebrities. But there is an effort to assimilate the two. Here, renowned D.J., Steve Aoki, isn’t signing autographs, but, standing on the same side of the camera, cheering together with the crowd.

If a recognizable face is front and center, it’s often the action that catches the eye.  Here, Katie Perry indulges herself with the classic party food, pizza. Unlike the voyeuristic paparazzi photos from the “they’re just like us” section of US Weekly, the proximity of the this looks and feels like she really is.

Street art has often been the fascination of youth culture. Here, Mr. Brainwash, featured in the pop documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” works away at one of his shows. We’re there front and center.

The Millennial Generation’s reverence for technological revolution is not ignored.

Unique ways to also pay homage to pop culture of the past. Here, using art of the tattoo, the iconic image from Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Audrey Hepburn with her enlarged cigarette holder.

A man one might cast in a surfing commercial sports a John Coltrane T-shirt.

A hackneyed vintage image, Bart Simpson. But the faceless girl’s colorful hair sprayed over Bart’s head adds a newer, hipper dimension.

Pictures of shoes and legs are in almost every album. Proud to be grounded and excited to go somewhere. Here, the funky socks and fancy shoes scream hipster (note the touch of technology, as an Apple computer charger rests close by).

A little danger and a little fun. It’s hard to take the eyes off her long legs and skater kicks.

Crazy, sexy, cool and next to normal. Kind of like the rest of Cobra Snake.
